Radiology Diagnostics

At Faisalabad Cancer Center, our Radiology Diagnostics Unit plays a crucial role in the accurate detection, staging, and monitoring of cancer. We are equipped with cutting-edge imaging technologies and a dedicated team of radiologists and technicians who ensure the highest standards of diagnostic precision

CT Scan

CT scans create cross-sectional images of the body using X-rays and computer processing. These scans are crucial for detecting tumors, assessing their size, shape, and location, and monitoring treatment effectiveness. It is particularly useful in identifying cancers of the lungs, abdomen, pelvis, and head.

X-Ray

One of the most common imaging tools, X-rays offer fast and efficient snapshots of internal body structures. At our center, they are widely used to detect bone lesions, lung abnormalities, and evaluate cancer that has metastasized to bones or the chest.

Color Doppler Imaging

This advanced ultrasound technique evaluates blood flow through vessels and within tumors. It helps oncologists assess tumor vascularity and identify blockages, narrowing, or abnormal flow patterns that may indicate cancer progression or complications.

Ultrasonography (Ultrasound)

Ultrasound imaging is non-invasive and does not use radiation. It’s ideal for guiding biopsies, monitoring cysts or masses in the breast, thyroid, liver, or abdomen, and for evaluating soft tissue structures. It’s also used during treatment to monitor changes in tumor size.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

MRI uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce highly detailed images. It is preferred for diagnosing cancers in the brain, spine, prostate, breast, and musculoskeletal system. MRIs are also critical in evaluating surgical options and detecting tumor recurrence.

Clinical Laboratory

Our modern Clinical Laboratory supports a wide range of diagnostic and monitoring services essential for cancer care. Staffed by expert pathologists and lab technicians, the lab ensures rapid and accurate reporting for optimal treatment planning.

Services include:

  1. Blood counts and tumor marker testing
  2. Biochemical and hormonal analysis
  3. Pathology reports for biopsies and surgical specimens
  4. Infection screening and pre-treatment assessments

Each test is processed with precision to support early diagnosis, monitor progress, and assess patient response to therapy.

Nuclear Medicine

Our Nuclear Medicine Unit brings precision to cancer detection by using small amounts of radioactive materials (radiotracers) to evaluate organ function and detect disease at an early stage.

Key offerings:

  1. PET Scan (Positron Emission Tomography): Identifies cancer spread and evaluates treatment response.
  2. SPECT Scan (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography): Assesses organ health, including bones and thyroid.
  3. Bone Scans and Thyroid Scans: Detect cancer spread to bones or abnormalities in thyroid function.

This department works closely with oncologists to tailor imaging for each patient’s clinical condition.

Research Laboratory

Faisalabad Cancer Center is committed not only to treatment but to the advancement of cancer research. Our Research Laboratory facilitates both clinical and translational studies aimed at improving patient outcomes and understanding cancer biology.

Our research initiatives include:

  1. Biomarker discovery and testing
  2. Genomic and molecular analysis
  3. Clinical trials participation
  4. Data collection for regional cancer studies
